Dr. Melinda D. Richards is a Licensed Professional Counselor / Certified Transpersonal Hypnotherapist, who earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University. She went on to complete a Master of Arts Degree in Human Resource Development from Bowie State University in Maryland. In addition, Dr. Richards earned an Education Specialist Degree and her Doctor of Education degree from the American School of Psychology now known as Argosy University Atlanta. Dr. Richards graduated at the top of her class with an “A” average. She is a member of the National Honors Society as well as professional organizations that help her to stay current with best practices and trends in psychology, education and training.

Dr. Richards has a passion for working with individuals with disabilities, particularly children. She has worked extensively with the disabled population for a number of years in community and educational settings. Dr. Richards has spent the most recent years of her career as the owner of out-patient behavioral
health practices with multiple offices in Georgia and Illinois. Restoring The Spirit (RTS) Services Unlimited, Inc., provides therapy and counseling services to children, adolescents and adults in the community. She also has a group practice providing Psychotherapy/ Hypnotherapy face-to-face and via Tele-mental Health.
 

Melinda is a self-starter and takes an aggressive stance in the area of service to those in need. She believes that all people regardless of race, ethnicity, age, gender or disability have the right to enjoy a fulfilling and meaningful life in an environment that is safe, nurturing and comfortable. Dr. Richards’ vision for all of her entrepreneurial ventures is simple, to allow individuals the opportunity to live, love and laugh. She believes that a family atmosphere is the most important component in making her vision a reality.
